On the occasion of the launch of the new Pasta&Love Beard gel, we thought that it would, perhaps, be a good idea to remind you of a few tips for a good and healthy routine when it comes to looking after your beard.

Beard care is an excellent habit: it helps you do the right things to best maintain your beard clean and in shape and acts as a supplement to your skincare. In fact, the skin of your face is the starting point for a healthy and well-cared-for beard: you shouldn’t neglect it, even if it’s hidden under the hairs.

Whether your beard is short or long, looking after it is essential, for the sake of both your appearance and health. Let’s see the stages of looking after your beard and the products to do it with that should always be part of your routine.

The steps to a perfect beard

Once you’ve chosen the gel you prefer, there are certain essential steps to take, that apply to beards of all types and that we suggest you follow. Let’s see what they are, together:

#1 - Prepping for the shave

Wash the beard with lukewarm (never too hot) water
Pat gently with a towel, without rubbing
Apply a beard oil as a pre-shave: an example would be the Pre-shaving & beard oil of our Pasta&Love line, with almond, jojoba and Crambe abyssinica oils.

#2 - The perfect shave

If you must trim the contour of your beard, use the Non foaming transparent shaving gel, the new soothing shaving gel of the Pasta&Love line; designed with a transparent texture, it provides you with the perfect visibility for shaving precise lines and shaping your beard, haircut, moustache and goatee.
For a full shave, on the other hand, use the Softening shaving gel formulated with Alkekengi extract that calms the skin and fights redness.

#3 - Post-shave care

Offer your skin relief with a moisturising and soothing after shave like the After shave & moisturizing cream of the Pasta & Love line. It contains Alkekengi, as well as shea and babassu butter: its light texture is not greasy and makes it an excellent moisturising cream for your entire face, perfect for a fast and effective daily skincare routine.
If needed, use a pair of scissors to trim your beard.
Use your hands to apply a beard oil to soften and moisturise it and make styling it easier: a few drops of the Pre-shaving & beard oil are enough to also make it smell nice. The product can be distributed better with a few comb strokes.
