GREENHOUSE GASES PRODUCED BY HUMAN ACTIVITY ARE WARMING THE EARTH, CAUSING CLIMATE CHANGE. BUT THERE IS STILL TIME TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND PROTECT OUR PRECIOUS PLANET.
To achieve Net-Zero emissions, a company must:
Discover how you can contribute to do your part to mitigate climate change.
Why is Davines a carbon neutral company?
Davines has been Carbon Neutral since 2018 because we monitor, reduce and neutralise scope 1 and 2 emissions.
What are Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions?
Scope 1, 2, and 3 describe different types of emissions that occur through a company’s supply chain:
- Scope 1 emissions are those that a company produces directly through its operations e.g. employees driving company vehicles.
- Scope 2 emissions are the indirect emissions produced by a company while using energy, which is produced on its behalf e.g. having lights on in an office.
- Scope 3 emissions are indirect and include all of the value chain for which the organisation is responsible e.g. emissions produced by suppliers, or customers using the company’s products.
What is the difference between carbon neutral and Net Zero emissions?
A company can be called Carbon Neutral when it counterbalances its emissions through carbon compensation or neutralisation - there is no requirement to reduce emissions.
To achieve Net Zero emissions, a company must first focus on reducing critical emissions according to the latest climate science before neutralising any residual emissions through carbon removal.
At Davines, we have gone beyond the minimum requirements for carbon neutrality, and are working towards being Net Zero, using targets created together with SBTi (Science Based Target Initiative).
