Wavy, curly, coily or textured:read our guide to discover all about your hair type
We are used to distinguishing straight or curly hair, but did you know that there are many more types? There are three types of straight hair, three of wavy hair, three of curly hair and three of coily or textured hair. Many people think they have straight hair, but they actually have wavy hair. And many people who believe to have wavy hair, might instead have nice curls should they use the right products. If we go beyond the simple distinction between straight and curly hair and go for a more detailed classification, you too may find out that your hair is different from what you think.
As mentioned above, there are twelve types of hair. Each type is identified by a number – from 1 to 4– that grows progressively as the hair movement increases. Type 1 refers to straight hair, type 2 to wavyhair and type 3 to curly hair, type 4 is for coily and textured hair. Within each category, there is an additional subdivisioninto A, B, C that describes how the curl winds.

Caring for curly hair starts with shampoo. On the one hand curly and wavy hair tends to get frizzy by nature, and on the other it may loose vitality and volume becoming flat and heavy. In your beauty routine, you cannot do without a moisturizing shampoo that gives elasticity and softness. Furthermore, do not forget to apply conditioner every time you shampoo the hair, and a mask once a month. Read the complete guide with the best 15 Davines products for curly hair.
